Clyst Honiton

Clyst Honiton is a village on the old A30 near Exeter Airport. Originally a farming community with a stage coach inn, blacksmith's and baker's, it is now home to 300 residents with Cranbrook up the road.
The rest of the parish, south of the A30, is mainly agricultural land down to the A3052 coast road. Much of this is likely to become another new town. The parish has seen a lot of change and the Parish Council are making sure that residents' views are part of the process.

COUNCILLOR VACANCY
After many years as a councillor some of which were as Chairman, Sue Hales has stood down from the Council, leaving a vacancy to be filled. The formal notification of the casual vacancy can be found here.

CLYST HONITON NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN - A SUCCESS STORY 
The Clyst Honiton Neighbourhood Plan is now part of planning law for the parish, as it has been officially 'made' by East Devon District Council. All planning applications for Clyst Honiton now have to comply with the policies the Neighbourhood Plan contains.

The referendum on the Clyst Honiton Neighbourhood Plan took place on 23rd January 2025 the result of which was a resounding 83.5% 'Yes' vote.

Now that it has community approval the Neighbourhood Plan has full weight in planning considerations and is already being used by Clyst Honiton Parish Council when responding to applications.

Annual Parish Elector's Meeting
This is not a parish council meeting, and is the meeting where you can attend to have your say or present a summary of what you, or a group you belong to have done in the previous year or outline what you would like to see happen going forward.
The meeting is to take place on Wednesday 14th May 2025, at 6.30pm in the Meeting Room at the Black Horse Inn. Please come along.

The next meeting of Clyst Honiton Parish Council will be on Wednesday 14th May 2025 in the Black Horse  Inn Meeting Room immediately following the Annual Elector's meeting.
